Creativity is a force for good.
I help changemakers speak from the heart, using visual communication, storytelling and design to bring people together in service of a better future.
I’m a values-led, multidisciplinary graphic artist and designer, working for champions of social justice, creativity and progress.
I’m fuelled by a fierce commitment to building a better world and serving those who need their story told. I have a particular interest in working with non-profits, organisations and individuals who are breaking the norm and finding innovative ways to make a real difference in the world.
Creativity is a force for good. I can help you with your campaigns, branding, storytelling, visualisation, communications and more.
“If you are looking for a designer that is not only immensely talented, but also creates with their heart and soul, Ali is the person you need. I cannot recommend her highly enough and look forward to working on future projects with her.”
- Ann Marie Williamson, Karma Kantina
Why me? I’m the daughter of a jazz playing systems scientist and a biologist turned nurse.
I care about the world, its people, connectivity and creativity.
I have an MA in Visual Communication from the Royal College of Art in London, where I specialised in developing communication strategies for complex social and ecological issues.
I have skills in print design, visual thinking and mapping, branding, narrative design, content and campaign development, education and problem solving. I recently completed a diploma in ‘visual thinking’ with Scriberia, and I’m even a qualified meditation teacher!
Some of you know me as the Cartooning Monk. I’m also a comics creator and sequential illustrator, passionate about making the world a better place, one story at a time.
I currently live on the Isle of Man but I work, teach and exhibit internationally.
Some of my previous clients, collaborators and employers include: the World Fair Trade Organization, The Scotland on Sunday, Resurgence & Ecologist Magazine, The Isle of Man Government’s Climate Change & Transformation Team, The International Furtures Forum, Enable Foundation, Ecoarchitect Ken Yeang, DESIS (Design for Social Innovation Towards Sustainability), Enlivened Learning, EcoLabs, The Helen Hamlyn Research Centre, Location Magazine, Abundance Finance, Huzzah Performing Arts, Hackney Children’s Art School and many more.
I also have a network of copywriters, photographers, animators and designers that I collaborate with, should they be needed on any given project.
I am proud to partner with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man.
UNESCO is the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, and the Isle of Man is unique because it is the only entire nation with UNESCO Biosphere status, and part of a global network of fellow communities exploring solutions to care for land, sea and species.
I operate as a values-led graphic artist and designer, engaging with issues around sustainability, inclusion, wellbeing and ecology. Part of my pledge as a partner is to help:
Protect natural resources
Develop our economy sustainably
Support cultural heritage
Have a positive environmental impact
Engage with local community
Promote our living landscape
